Blood Drive at Trinity – Today
Today’s Blood Drive, sponsored by Life South Community Blood Centers will be from 9:00am – 2:00pm in the lot across the street from the church.
One Service and Congregational Meeting – August 18th
There will be one service at 10:00am on August 18th with a Congregational Meeting afterwards to discuss and vote on a loan option to fund upcoming renovations to the church.
Youth Re-Gathering – August 18th
The Senior and Middle School Youth of Trinity along with other youth groups throughout the city will be Re-Gathering at Cross Roads Lutheran Church on August 18th from 2:00 – 7:00. Adults are invited to join in the event. Folks may meet at the church at 1:30pm to carpool or go directly to Cross Road.
First Communion Instructional Class – August 25th
First Communion candidates will meet on August 25th from 4:00 – 6:30 in the Cecil Poole Room. The instruction will be on the meaning of Holy Communion in the Lutheran Church, walking through how to receive Communion, and the making of banners illustrating the meanings of Holy Communion. A parent is requested to be at the church with their child, particularly for the banner making part of the instruction time.
God’s Amazing Book
“God’s Amazing Book” has so much to offer for the beginner or the advanced reader. That’s what’s so amazing about it! This is a FREE and simple 7 week course that is being offered this summer at Trinity beginning on Thursday, July 11th at 6:00. Come join and see for yourself.
Children’s Sunday School takes a summer break
Trinity’s Children’s Sunday School will be on summer break the month of July. They will resume classes on August 25th after school begins.
Adult Sunday School and The Takeaway Adult Sunday School Classes
The Adult Sunday School class will not meet today because of the one service but will meet on July 28th for their last Sunday before they take a “vacation break” August 4th through September 1st. They will start on their regular schedule again on September 9th.
The Takeaway Sunday School Bible Study is on break for the summer. The Takeaway will resume again in the fall.
From This Foundation, Our Ministry Grows
There has been tremendous response thus far to the Capital Campaign appeal From This Foundation, Our Ministry Grows. From its inception and kickoff in 2018 thru June 30, 2019, $149,553.00 has been received in individual offerings through July 31st, memorials, WELCA, Trinity Commeratives, and from the Children of Trinity ($703.00). Over $401,387.00 has been committed to the Campaign and if you have not made a commitment you are invited to do so. The total renovation estimate is $925,000. Whether large or small, every commitment and gift makes a difference. Pledge cards are available in the Friendship Registers, and special packets of giving envelops are available in the Narthex of the Sanctuary. Thank you to everyone who has committed and/or contributed to this Campaign.
Just in case you missed them on Easter Sunday… In support of the From This Foundation Our Ministry Grows several people are providing unique items that may be purchased to Commemorate Trinity. Items are available through the church office. Thank you to all who donated their time and talents!
Note Cards with the Trinity Fountain will be available on Easter morning during the Easter Breakfast – $10.00 for a pack of 5 cards. These cards were designed and provided by Laura Karabinis.
Trinity “Rocks” are colorful rocks painted and decorated with symbols of the Trinity made by Donna White are available in the church office. Suggested donation is $5.00 each.
Red Commemorative Writing Pens with Trinity’s info are available in the church office free to all Trinity families and friends. Please limit two per family.
New Church Council Member
Today at the reSource Service, Virginia Rice will be installed as a Church Council member for Trinity. Virginia was appointed by Council to complete this year’s term of Tom Culverwell.
Thank you to Darlane Valentine and Joanne Martin for hosting Coffee Hour after the 11:00 service today. There will be no coffee hour next week due to the Congregational Meeting.
